Old IT Equipment - Data Destruction and Recycling of Components

The disposal of IT equipment by businesses needs to be managed. For a start all IT equipment is subject to the WEEE regulations for the disposal of electric equipment in that all effort needs to be made to ensure that components are recycled. In addition to this, businesses need to ensure that any data stored on magentic media (disk drives, etc.) is destroyed so that it cannot fall into the wrong hands.

Although Premier Shredding started out as a specialist in secure destruction and recycling of paper waste, in recent years we have had requests from customers concerning the disposal of IT equipment and the destruction of any data held, and we have always been happy to oblige on a ad-hoc basis. We are now in a position to offer this service to all customers.

So why use Premier Shredding for your IT disposal? Well there are several reasons:

  • You get the same level of customer service and confidence that comes with working with one of the country's leaders in secure waste destruction. It is all that we do.
  • We hold all the necessary licences to handle IT waste
  • Look at what happens to IT equipment that we collect from you:
    • You will be provided with a Waste Transfer Note upon collection of the equipment.
    • When the equipment arrives at one of our secure processing depot any data storage media is removed. This is then destroyed using our powerful top of the range industrial shredding machines guaranteeing that no data can be recovered.
    • You will recieve a Certificate of Destruction for any magnetic media destroyed
    • Once any magnetic media is removed and destroyed all equipment is then transported to our recycling partners based in the UK, and anything that can be salvaged or recycled is stripped off for re-use.
  • Finally as we formally launch ot IT equipment disposal service we are offering a 50% discount on our usual rates until the end of April. This will be subject to our ability to collect as part of one of our standard paper collections. Call us to discuss your requirement.
So whatever your requirement in IT equipment disposal, make sure you call us before deciding on a service provider.
